FAQ

Flying with a drone?

Drones are increasingly becoming popular both for personal and commercial use. They can be used for photography, filming and aerial mapping. Recent regulations regarding drones have been approved by FAA. They include new requirements for registration and licensing, pilot training, insurance, and other requirements. These changes will help ensure that drones stay safe for all.

Can you fly a drone high without a licence?

The FAA has no limits on the maximum height a drone can fly. However, you must register your unmanned aircraft system (UAS), which includes the registration numbers, model name and weight, size, serialnum, manufacturer's name and date manufactured.

With a drone, can someone spy on me?

Anyone can spy on you with a drone. Protecting yourself from drones requires that you be alert to them and stay away from areas where they fly. Call 911 immediately if you spot a drone flying about.

How can I keep drones from my home?

Drones are becoming more common for home surveillance. However they can also be a threat to privacy or security. If you want to avoid drone attacks, you should install motion sensors around your property and use them to detect any unauthorized flying objects.

Are drones allowed on public events?

If you observe the rules, then you can fly a drone wherever you want. If you intend to fly your drone at a public event, such as a parade or festival, you will need permission from the organizers.

Which US states allow drones?

It is legal to operate a drone as a hobby. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), has established guidelines that allow the use of small unmanned aircraft systems (UASs). Before UASs can be flown, they must be registered with FAA. The FAA also allows commercial operators to fly these devices if certain conditions are met.

How To

Repairing a damaged motor on a drone

It is important to first identify which motor part is damaged before you can repair it. This is easiest to do by removing the propeller from its shaft. Then you should remove any wires attached to the motor and look at the inner workings of the motor itself. If you spot something wrong, you can identify which part of the motor needs to be fixed.

You don't need to worry if there's no damage to your motor. However, a motor that looks like the one below will require you to replace certain components before you can fly again.

Let's say that a motor is bent so that it can no longer turn. The motor will need to be bent back into its original shape. To hold the engine, use a pair pliers or a vice grip. After you have completed this step, be sure to inspect the motor for any signs of wear.

Once you're satisfied that everything's ok, put the propeller back onto the motor shaft and reattach the wires. You are now ready for your drone to fly.
