Grabbit G6

A new technology is coming to the police department: a drone. Grabbit G6 uses facial recognition technology for identifying protestors. HigherGround invented this technology and it is called Live911. The technology allows a police radio operator to hear 911 calls in real-time. This data provides tactical intelligence that allows the teleoperator to launch the drone based upon the reported emergency. Police departments are able to send drones on the spot before officers even notice what's happening.

Skyseer

A fully loaded SkySeer costs around US$25,000 to $30000. This price includes all electronics, a video surveillance system, and a ground station with computer interfaces. The video interface transmits real-time video directly to the police laptop. Once a case is over, the video can be recorded to DVD or Macromedia Flash. The drone has a preset flight plan that it follows.

It is not a toy, contrary to its name.

Predator

The U.S. Customs and Boarder Protection owns the Predator drone, a sophisticated surveillance aircraft. These aircraft can capture thermal images and video footage from criminals by flying at high altitudes. Recent civil unrest in Minnesota was caused by a Predator B aircraft flying above the city. Nelson County police said that the Brossart clan was responsible for the arrest. Privacy concerns are still present, but drones have many advantages for law enforcement.

Reaper
